Eastmoor Approved School - Leeds - May 2013

Eastmoor Apprved School May 2013

Introduction:

This one was a bit of a spur of the moment explore from memory, I can remember getting picked up by Jacob with Stephen in his red micra with a whole load of potential places to explore in the Leeds area...

As was usually the case back then, everything turned out to be a fail, barring this place, just as well really as much fun was had!

History is something that I've not had an awful lot of luck managing to find with regards to this place. I do know however that the site was first established in 1854 and was taken over by Leeds CC on the 1st of April 1973. John Venables was also an inmate here at some point too, which casts a dark shadow on the buildings and the explore.

Still we had fun here, collecting some nice photographs along the way, the pool area being the most intersting part of the explore.

Pictures:

The Pool, the building really was in a dire state by the time we arrived, but pool still seemed somewhat photogenic...

Stephen light painting in front of the old blackboard in the pool...

Swimming Pool Boiler House - Stripped pretty much bare

Workshops, the Vice's from Record Ridgways of Sheffield.

Moving a little deeper into what was the dormatories some of the old Victorian tiling begins to show its self

The Eastmoor Coat of Arms.

And an external to finish with.

Cheers for reading!
